What Are Compostable Garbage Bag
Compostable Garbage Bags support separate collection of organic waste. They are a convenient, clean and hygienic tool to help households collect more food residual waste from the kitchen while reducing contamination from conventional plastics in wet waste. They contribute to the full implementation of separate biowaste collection in households and have been shown to increase the material inputs required for biogas production in anaerobic digestion plants and for compost production in industrial composting facilities. Bio-compostable plastic bags serve a dual function that is not possible with conventional plastic bags: they can meet conventional carrying needs and can be used to collect biodegradable kitchen and food waste.
Compostable Garbage Bag
Compostable Plastics belong to the category of biodegradable plastics. Biodegradable plastics also include plastics that biodegrade anaerobically.
Compostable Plastics (Compostable Plastics) refers to plastics that can be converted into carbon dioxide, water, mineralized inorganic salts of the elements contained therein and new biomass within a certain period of time through the action of microorganisms under the condition of composting, and the heavy metal content, toxicity test and residual debris of the final compost should be in accordance with the provisions of the relevant standards. Compostable plastics can be further divided into industrial composting and garden composting, and the compostable plastics on the market now basically belong to the biodegradable plastics under industrial composting conditions.

In addition to being biodegradable by microorganisms, there is a time requirement that must be met in order for a plastic bag to be called a "compostable" plastic. For example, the standards ASTM-6400 (Specification for Compostable Plastics), ASTM-D6868 (Specification for Biodegradable Plastics for Surface Coating of Paper or Other Compostable Media), or EN-13432 (Compostable Packaging) state that these materials should biodegrade in industrial composting environments in less than 180 days.

An industrial composting environment means that the specified temperature is approximately 60°C and microorganisms must be present. According to this definition, compostable plastics do not leave fragments in the residue that are present for longer than about 12 weeks, do not contain heavy metals or toxic substances and can sustain plant life.
