Solubility: easily soluble in water, also soluble in glycerol, 20g of sodium carbonate can be dissolved in 100g of water at 20℃, maximum solubility at 35.4℃, 49.7g of Sodium Carbonate can be dissolved in 100g of water, slightly soluble in anhydrous ethanol, insoluble in propanol.
PH: 11.5 for 1% aqueous solution.
Aqueous solution: conducts electricity in aqueous solution or molten state, and the aqueous solution has astringent flavor and slippery feeling.
Hydrophilicity: Hydrophilic, gradually absorbs 1mol/L water (about=15%) when exposed to air.
Hydrates: Na2CO3-H2O, Na2CO3-7H2O and Na2CO3-10H2O [6].
CHEMISTRY: The aqueous solution of Sodium Carbonate is alkaline and somewhat corrosive, and can react with acid by complex decomposition, as well as with some calcium and barium salts by complex decomposition. The solution is alkaline and can make phenolphthalein red.
