Nitrile Rubber has excellent oil resistance. The typical NBR structure is approximately 78% trans. Due to the presence of cyano groups in the molecular chain structure of NBR, the oil resistance (e.g. to mineral oils, liquid fuels, animal and vegetable oils and solvents) is superior to that of Natural Rubber, neoprene and styrene butadiene rubber. Compared with other rubbers NBR has a wider range of service temperatures, its long-term service temperature is 120 ° C. At the same time, NBR has good low temperature resistance, the lowest glass transition temperature of -55 ° C.
NBR is chemically stable, good processing performance, with its structure of the acrylonitrile content of its relative density increases, the speed of vulcanization accelerated, tensile strength performance increases, but the resilience of the decline in performance, cold resistance deterioration. Nitrile rubber has excellent physical and mechanical properties and processing performance, but long-term in the acidic gasoline and high temperature (150 ℃) in the environment is not as good as the performance of fluorine rubber and acrylate rubber, the development of excellent performance of hydrogenated nitrile rubber (HNBR).
